The 6th Annual Conference and University Presidents' Forum of the Division for Cross-Border Cooperative Education, Guangdong Association of Higher Education (DCCE, GAHE) will be held on 11–12 December 2026 at City University of Hong Kong (Dongguan). Newsbrief | Dr. Milen JISSOV’s OBTL&CRA lecture explores BNBU’s teaching philosophy and practice

On 14 October, Dr. Milen JISSOV, Associate Director of CTL and Associate Professor of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences (FHSS), delivered a Beyond Boundaries lecture titled "OBTL & CRA: BNBU's Teaching Philosophy and Practice." Dr. Milen JISSOV explained the core concepts surrounding OBTL and CRA and the principle of "constructive alignment" of the concepts. He also shared practical strategies for course design and syllabus writing, encouraged faculty to incorporate multiple and diverse TLAs into their courses, and offer timely feedback to students to support effective learning.

Call for Papers | Asian Journal of the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (AJSoTL)

The Asian Journal of the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (AJSoTL) is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal dedicated to advancing the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) from Asian and global perspectives. Published by the Centre for Holistic Teaching and Learning at Hong Kong Baptist University, AJSoTL serves as a platform for sharing pedagogical innovations, original research, and critical reflections on higher education.

The journal invites rigorous, scholarly investigation of and evidence-based critical reflections on topics related to all aspects of teaching and learning, including:

• Designing effective learning environments;

• The educational affordances of technology;

• High-quality assessment and feedback; 

• Curriculum design and other relevant practices.

The Pacific Asia Summit on Transdisciplinary Education (PASTE)

The summit gathers educators and students from the Pacific Asia region to facilitate dialogue and knowledge exchange amongst leading scholars, practitioners, and students. It promotes transcultural and transectoral collaboration in addressing complex challenges and serves as a platform to showcase innovative inter- and transdisciplinary approaches and research through interactive presentations and student poster presentations.The conference theme is Transcultural and Transectoral Collaboration in Transdisciplinary Education.

Call for Application | Guangdong Health Education and Science Popularization Course Development Projects

为深入贯彻《“健康中国 2030”规划纲要》，全面落实教育部《普通高等学校健康教育指导纲要》部署要求，推进高等学校健康教育规范化、体系化、数字化建设，发挥科普课程作用，提升大学生健康素养与体质健康水平，经研究，决定组织开展全省高校健康教育科普课程建设立项申报工作。

Note: Each course project must be submitted by a team, with one project leader and at least three participating members. The course project outputs should be submitted as a complete course package, including course videos, PowerPoint slides, a course description, and instructor information.

Symposium on Undergraduate Teaching Innovation in the New Era and the Screening Round of the 12th Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU) National Teaching Innovation Award 新时代本科教学创新研讨会暨第十二届西浦全国大学教学创新大赛海选

The Symposium on Undergraduate Teaching Innovation and Central China Screening Round of the 12th XJTLU National Teaching Innovation Award will be held at China Three Gorges University in Yichang, Hubei Province. Guided by a student-centred philosophy, the symposium will bring together participants to discuss the irreplaceable role of teachers in the AI era.

Artificial Intelligence Symposium 2026

The rapid development of generative AI has challenged the higher education sector, provoking a wide range of perspectives and responses. This has provoked reflection on some fundamental questions: What is the purpose of higher education, and what disciplinary knowledge should our graduates possess? A digital badge award will recognise presenters at this event.

Scenario Development Competition 2026

Join the RISE (Resilience and Integrity through Scenario-based Engagement) Scenario Development Competition 2026 and win prizes up to HK$ 6,000! The competition is open to all current students studying at higher education institutions in Hong Kong, as well as students studying at their affiliated institutions in the Chinese mainland.

Submission format:

Language: English.

Scenario format: Two-level branching with 3-4 options provided at each time when a player needs to make decisions.
