“Beyond Boundaries” T&L Lecture Series #7 | Redesigning Assessment for the AI Age: Introducing the AIAR Custom Bot
Abstract: Are you wondering how to redesign assessments when AI can complete the tasks you’ve always used? Unsure which assessments should restrict AI use and which should embrace it? Struggling to balance academic integrity with preparing students for an AI-enhanced workplace? The AI Assessment Redesign (AIAR) Bot is a custom chatbot created to help academic staff navigate assessment redesign in response to generative AI's impact on higher education. This 30-minute session will introduce the bot and its purpose, explain the design decisions behind its development, and demonstrate how it works in practice. You'll explore how the AIAR Bot can help you make practical decisions about adapting your assessments. The session includes a mini workshop where you'll have hands-on time to try the bot yourself, testing it with your own assessments and exploring its capabilities in real-time.
