On August 27, five BNBU faculty members have participated Hong Kong Baptist University’s annual Faculty Development Day. Organised by the Centre for Holistic Teaching and Learning (CHTL), the full-day programme offered an overview of HKBU’s teaching and learning landscape, university resources, and innovative pedagogical practices.

Dr. Albert CHAU, Vice-President for Teaching and Learning at HKBU, opened the morning session by introducing HKBU’s innovative approach to teaching and learning in the evolving AI era. Subsequently, Dr. Theresa Kwong, Director of CHTL, together with representatives from various university units, introduced the University’s teaching and learning programmes, support services, and resources available to academic staff.

The afternoon session featured highly interactive roundtable discussions around six contemporary pedagogical topics, such as transdisciplinary education, ethical AI use for teaching, flipped classroom implementation and academic advising. BNBU delegates actively engaged with HKBU teaching professionals, exchanging insights and experiences on contemporary pedagogical practices and curriculum innovation.

Under the “One University, Two Campuses” framework, CTL is committed to facilitating cross-campus exchange between BNBU and HKBU. This exchange has provided valuable opportunities for professional learning and strengthened connections between the two institutions.
