Supporting Innovative Teaching Tools: CTL Successfully Holds Introduction to Mentimeter Online Training Session | 教师教学发展中心成功举办Mentimeter专题培训

To further advance digital teaching innovation and improve student engagement, the Centre for Teaching and Learning (CTL) organized an online introductory training session on Mentimeter on March 19, 2026. The session was open to all faculty members, and nearly 25 teachers participated, eager to explore new ways to enhance classroom interaction. The session invited Mr. Steven de STEFANO, Senior Account Executive of Mentimeter APAC, as the speaker. The training focused on the practical application of real-time interactive teaching tools, supporting instructors in creating more engaging classrooms.

The session combined feature introductions, live demonstrations, and case studies. Mr. STEFANO highlighted Mentimeter's core functions, including real-time response collection and visualization, which allow instructors to assess comprehension and adjust their teaching accordingly. He also showcased its AI-powered feature, which can generate quiz questions from course materials to enhance instructional efficiency.

A key advantage of Mentimeter is that, as a web-based tool, it requires no app installation, allowing students to join activities via QR codes or links. It also supports anonymous responses, helping to create a more comfortable environment where shy students feel encouraged to share their thoughts.

Participants responded positively to the session. Many expressed strong interest in using Mentimeter to boost student engagement and foster more interactive learning experiences. Several teachers noted that they planned to incorporate the tool into their own classrooms moving forward.

This session represents an important step in CTL’s efforts to enhance teaching capabilities and explore new models for interactive learning. By equipping instructors with practical digital tools, the activity supports a shift from one-way lecturing to two-way interaction, boosting student engagement and learning outcomes. Looking ahead, CTL will continue to introduce high-quality digital teaching resources and foster pedagogical innovation to strengthen talent development and support the university’s high-quality education goals.
