Introduction to Mentimeter: Listen, Learn, and Think Together


The Centre for Teaching and Learning (CTL) will host an Introduction to Mentimeter open to all faculty members looking to explore innovative teaching tools and enhance student participation in the classroom. Join this live training session to learn how to use Mentimeter to increase engagement, participation and feedback in your classes. No registration needed!


1. What is Mentimeter?

Mentimeter is a web-based student engagement platform that requires no software downloads or hardware purchases. Students simply use their own phones, tablets, or computers to participate in real-time classroom interaction. The platform offers a variety of interactive options including multiple choice, word clouds, open-ended questions, scales, rankings, Q&A, and quiz competitions.


2. Training Content

In this session, you will:

  • See practical higher education examples

  • Learn practical tips for live and hybrid teaching

  • Explore polls, word clouds and Q&A

  • Understand how to use results to support student learning

  • Ask questions during a live Q&A

Suitable for both new and existing users.
